Summer at the Swan House

Updated: Aug 7, 2019

Back in August, as I was jumping on board with the Square 8 Team, I was given a really unique opportunity to shoot the Atlanta Big Fake Wedding at one of the most beautiful historic venues in the city: The Atlanta Historical Society Swan House Keep reading from some gorgeous shots from this epic venue!

Coming in to the Big Fake Wedding, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Would it be like a bridal show? A wedding? (Update: it was AMAZING and brides looking for vendors should totally check out the Big Fake Wedding website to see when they're coming to your city!)

One of the things I loved about shooting the Big Fake Wedding was just how personal, and how much like a real wedding, everything felt. Since becoming a husband myself, and now a father to 2 daughters, weddings take on a whole new meaning for me now. I shoot with such different perspective, which is so fun and encouraging for me.

Our bride and groom, Andy and Rebecca, were such a beautiful, beautiful couple. Amazing smiles. Fun, fun personalities. You could tell that they really hold the gift of marriage close to their heart and cherish one another. And they looked perfect with the Swan House standing majestically behind them!

I mentioned earlier I wasn't sure what I was getting in to with the Big Fake Wedding. I don’t think ANDY and REBECCA knew what they were getting in to either, until we got to the moment where they were looking in to each others eyes, holding hands, and reciting out these heartfelt renewal vows they had written, and both of them are just bawling. And that was really special for me to experience and capture for Andy and Rebecca. That just really took me by surprise in a unique way and made me appreciate everything the team at The Big Fake wedding aims to do to make each event special for the couple they choose for the occasion.

All in all it was an amazing day! Kudos to the Big Fake Wedding team - this was a ton of fun to be a part of, and all their hard work and dedication was truly seen throughout the event -seeing it all come together was such a joy. Walking around shooting photos of, and meeting, vendors reminded me of how much work and dedication and creativity and forethought goes in to your wedding day. It really does take a village, and it makes you appreciate every other vendor that helps make a wedding possible.
